What is the RNGdle Sandbox?
RNGdle Sandbox is an independent number editor and EP calculator inspired by RNGdle. Generate unlimited numbers, change individual digits, discover patterns, and compare scores across all 1,000,000 six-digit combinations.
Start with the numbers archive or explore the sandbox badge catalog.
Why start at 524,287?
524,287 is 2¹⁹ − 1, the seventh Mersenne prime. Its binary representation is nineteen ones. The sandbox checks the decimal number for Prime Enigma; it does not award separate badges for its binary representation.
Changing one digit can preserve primality or introduce another pattern. Compare its five best single-digit edits to see the actual matched badges and net EP gain.
Single-digit edits and local maxima
Six positions with nine alternatives each produce 54 single-digit changes. The editor checks every unlocked position and shows up to five changes with positive EP gains. A local maximum has no improving edit among those checked; it need not be the highest score overall.
EP formula and population ranks
At ×1, the score is 2,100 + round(140 × digit entropy) + 12 × |digit sum − 27| + a deterministic number-dependent offset from 0 to 579 + matched badge bonuses. Digit entropy is −Σ p × log₂(p), where p is a digit’s frequency across the six positions.
The reference input 289447 is explicitly fixed at 2,479 EP (Bottom 1.3147% under the current full population). This exception is part of the sandbox’s independent rules.
Rank is based on enumerating all 1,000,000 inputs. Top includes all scores greater than or equal to the current score; Bottom includes all scores less than or equal to it. An individual exact number has a 1 in 1,000,000 chance under an unlocked uniform roll, regardless of its EP. Badge probabilities and score-tail percentages measure different events.
Rarity tiers and sandbox scoring
These are score thresholds, not probability bands. A legendary, mythic, or godly badge can raise the final tier to at least that level even below its score threshold.
| Tier | EP threshold at ×1 |
|---|---|
| COMMON | Below 3,100 |
| UNCOMMON | 3,100–4,499 |
| RARE | 4,500–7,999 |
| EPIC | 8,000–19,999 |
| LEGENDARY | 20,000–59,999 |
| MYTHIC | 60,000–119,999 |
| GODLY | 120,000 or more |

Rare patterns and low numbers
The lowest numerical input is 000000, but its multiple badges give it a high EP score. Numerical value and EP rank are different measurements. Compare it with the fixed reference score.
A six-position decimal palindrome is divisible by 11, including those with leading zeros. None equals 11, so no input in this format can earn Sacred Geometry. Other high-scoring patterns include six identical digits and the Pi constant.
Frequently asked questions
What is the RNGdle Sandbox?
An independent fan-made EP calculator and number editor. Explore any six-digit input from 000000 to 999999, generate unlimited numbers, lock positions, and compare single-digit edits.
How many badges can I collect?
There are 43 independently defined entries and 41 obtainable badges. The One Million is outside the input range; Sacred Geometry cannot match a six-position decimal palindrome. Neither counts toward collection completion. This is not an official RNGdle badge total.
Are the scores and odds official?
No. EP uses this sandbox’s rules. Population ranks are computed across all 1,000,000 six-digit inputs at multiplier ×1. Top means the proportion scoring at least as much; Bottom means the proportion scoring at most as much. Both include ties. These ranks are not probabilities conditioned on locked digits.
What counts as discovering a badge?
Viewing an example, editing a number, or generating a number records its matched badges on this browser. Only Generate increments the generation counter. Resetting or previewing a number does not count as a random generation.
What is a local maximum?
A number with no higher-scoring single-digit neighbor among the allowed edits. Without locks, all 54 changes are checked. Locks reduce the available changes; unlock digits or explore a different number to continue.
Is my collection saved?
History, discoveries and personal best are stored locally when browser storage is available. They do not sync across devices. Clearing browser site data removes them. Older saved scores are recalculated using current sandbox rules; legacy mixed edit/roll counts are not carried into the new generation-only counter.
